Role Objective/Purpose

We are looking for a travel industry Account Development Manager to manage our trade partners, ideally with previous experience in working for a B2B/B2C business within the tours and activities or travel/travel technology sectors. You are looking to develop your skills in a technology-forward and fast-paced company that works with hospitality partners, API integrations, retail agencies and technology platforms. Enthusiasm, an ability to engage with tour operators, OTAs, retail agency partners and an interest in marketing and travel technology are highly desirable. The right candidate will bring strong, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to negotiate at multiple levels of seniority within an organisation, supported by the senior team and management. The principal function of this role is to activate networks of existing travel agency accounts, grow the overall business from other trade partner accounts and maximise the revenue of a portfolio through exceptional customer management, product knowledge and sales tactics with the aim of achieving/exceeding the revenue and margin target set for each client. This role requires an element of in-person visits to partners and participation at trade shows globally which will require travel and overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management: Day-to-day management of assigned partners (subject to change per business requirements) including maintenance and upkeep of the Travel Curious CRM.

  • Liaison with internal teams to resolve any IT, commercial or customer care issues which may arise, ensuring any challenges are clearly communicated and escalated as needed.

  • Representation: Attending trade events and face to face partner meetings as required to act as ambassador for Travel Curious

  • Commercial relationships: Ensuring that all partners have regular and scheduled contact to build relationships and strengthen rapport. Supporting marketing initiatives by ensuring accurate CRM data is maintained for newsletters and partner updates.

  • Business Development: Working with partners to ensure they have all new tours and cities, continually seeking to increase the number of tours per partner and drive increased revenues and margins through promotional opportunities, incentives, webinars/training, marketing and merchandising

  • Performance Analysis: Regular monitoring of partners' financial performance versus budgets to ensure remedial action can be taken for any underperforming partners.

  • New Partner Support: Working with the commercial and new sales teams, support the efforts in onboarding new partners ensuring that all new customers are familiar with Travel Curious products and processes.

  • Financial: Liaising with finance team as needed for any credit applications ensuring that optimal terms are agreed and subsequently adhered to by Travel Curious partners.

  • Administration: Support and input as required into monthly management and board reporting. Responsible for new partner registration administration in the Travel Curious CRM/Agent Portal and maintenance of partner commercial agreements.

Management Responsibilities

  • There are no direct reports assigned to this role

Key Measures

  • Partner performance versus budgets in relation to revenues, margins, booking levels

  • Activity in proactively aiming to grow existing partners and activate new accounts

  • Maintenance of CRM and any other administrative tasks which may reasonably be required

  • Effective communication internally with other departments, ensuring opportunities are clearly highlighted and challenges escalated when needed.

Personal Skills & Competencies

  • Minimum 2 yearsʼ experience within the travel Industry, ideally, but not necessarily, within the Tours & Activities sector

  • Familiarity with G Suite

  • Broad understanding of API and travel technology-training will be provided on all Travel Curious technologies

  • Clean drivers license (desirable)

  • Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment

  • Integrity, a genuine desire to connect with partners and commercial accumen are essential for this role

  • Comfortable presenting at webinars and training tour operators and retail agencies on the Travel Curious products and platforms

  • Additional languages spoken are desirable but not essential
